Coach Mike’s Tips

Preparing for tryouts
Treat tryouts like an interview, go in prepared. No matter what position you have played in the past you will be asked to show what you can do at other positions. Make sure that your arm is prepared by throwing long toss weeks before. If you have just finished the previous season, stay in shape during the time off.
Show up early in order to complete the preregistration and to stretch and warm up. Look like a ball player, wear and use the proper clean equipment.
Listen to the instructions you are given, if you don’t understand, ask questions. Make good eye contact when talking to coaches and do what they ask without arguing or making excuses.
Hustle, hustle, and hustle some more! Don’t use tryouts as a time to chat with your friends or previous teammates.
Most importantly, stay positive, be relaxed and have fun!
